When you set out to start building your list, the first step is to find your niche. You need to have something that interests you to build your list. If you only watch TV, you will have something in common with millions of people around the world. I hope you do more than this, but do you understand what I mean? Everyone has what they do when they are not working, sleeping or eating. Correct? Not many people sit in chairs and stare into space quietly.
So, the second step, after finding your niche, is to create a squeeze page. First of all, you must have a budget. You are starting a business! Even if it only has 50 US dollars per month, just like it, that's the budget. So, decide what your budget is.
If you have more money than time, you can do two things. You can pay to give you a squeeze page. It's quite cheap, probably not more than $20. When you are just starting out, you really shouldn't pay more. Or, you can add a program like Marketing Transformation Builder that guides you through the process. All you need to do is take out a copy of the sale and set it up. This is an option, but it is a subscription service, so you need to pay for it.
But if you have more time than money, you need to learn how to do it, not that difficult. You can get a trial version of Dreamweaver. This is an HTML editor WYSIWYG (you see is what you get). It is very powerful. You can also download a free WYSIWYG HTML editor called N-Vu at http://www.nvu.com. Play with these software programs and learn a little bit. This is fun once you play. Dreamweaver has a complete tutorial for you to read. I suggest you do this. You will learn how to use this program, and you will learn some HTML. Front Page is another editor and you may already be on your computer. It doesn't matter what you use. Just started!
Once you are familiar with the program you are using, then start thinking about what is happening on the page. A simple graphic, like your own photo, a great title, some bullets, and a selection box for list construction are all you need.
It is best to keep a white background. When you wear black and purple, it doesn't look professional. Adhere to the basic neutral or light colors to make the text easy to read.
Your bullet should show the audience how he or she will benefit from registering your list. Here are some of my first List.com for me:
- How to Build Your First List in Less Than 90 Minutes
- 3 Ways to Earn Money From List Immediately
- How To Create You The first website
is the reason people may want to register for more information. Here's what you need to do: Let them know why they want to register. If you are selling wedding dresses, you may get the following points:
- unique wedding dresses, only a few available each style
- affordable wedding dresses
- perfect wedding dress
you understood. The bride wants to be beautiful, there is a dress that nobody wears, and the price is reasonable. Correct? If you can tell people how to find those people, they will register your list.
List construction is an art and a science. You must have reasonable creativity, but it's not hard. Put things together and make you happy, then put it together and see if it works! If this doesn't work, try another title. Then try different bullets or different colors. Test only once at a time to see what changes are effective and then continue.
Just don't be shy to start. Your squeeze page is your tool for choosing to join users. Just take it out and let it start working for you!
